The Lips have always been an iconic symbol in pop art, I am not quite sure when it started, for me it was the movie poster for the rocky Horror Picture Show. I remember going to see the movie in a my younger years on Friday nights at midnight in NYC, the lips icon has stuck with me ever since. The Lips  start with up-cycled luxury boxes or shopping bags that are trimmed into the background shape, collaged and then embroidered. The embroidery is stitched directly through the actual box itself. Each background features intricate embroidery stitches that truly make each one unique. Once the background is complete it is padded and mounted. The lips are embroidered using thread and glitter appliqué.  Once embroidered are hand trimmed and mounted in relief over the background.
