Cox layered a Victorian woman and a burlesque, which are iconic female ideologies of social construct that were dictated to look a certain way. As you walk by, the image morphs into a travel back in time and you see the different generational layers of women surrounded by edgy florals. About the Artist:
B. Shawn Cox is an artist bound by two responsibilities. First to capture, emote and communicate an idea and then, to transform the chosen media itself as part of the expression. His work offers reflective commentary on social mythology by repurposing iconographic figurative stereotypes in graphic, lyrical, playful, and layered compositions.
